I have just adopted them from SPCA - today? Oh well the story goes like this: I went down to SPCA on Friday and I decided to adopt the pair of chins they put up for adoption. Their original names were Pepper and Plum. They are 5 and 8 years old respectively and considered quite old in Singapore. (Apparently Singapore's hot and humid weather shortens Chin's lifespan. They are supposed to be able to live 15-20 years in other countries.)
But I had to go and get them a large cage (chins like more space to run and jump about) and a mushroom house and waterbottle and food and hay and etc...
So I rushed around to get all those stuff and lugged them back. I prepared everything - everything was ready for the little cuties to move in, except I had to wait till the next day. The next day (Saturday), I woke up very early and rushed down to SPCA and got them. It was a busy day (as with every weekend) and they were seriously under-manpowered. I had to wait a long while before someone finally attended to me and took out my Chins.
So for the past 2 days I have been familiarising myself with the Chins and them with me and my house. And they are just starting to get used to the environment and their new mom. Then, I received a call from SPCA early morning today and they told me that... They have given me the wrong pair of chins!
I wanted to just keep the existing pair since I have already spent 2 days with them and I have treated them with utmost love. They are like my kids! Even for just 2 days! But apparently SPCA has to sterilise them (it's a very strict policy apparently) and many chins don't survive through the surgery. So they sent the "right" pair of chins over and took my 1st pair away.
I pray for my first 2 kids that they will survive. I don't even know their names I have just called Chinchin and Chinnie (which I am going to use for the new pair cos I can't think of any cuter names). I don't even know if they are male or female and their age.
I am seriously thinking of adopting those 2 if they survived through their surgery. Although I don't really have another $200 to pay for them and I doubt if my parents will be happy. I had already a very hard time convincing them to let me keep a pair of chins in the 1st place.
But no mom in the world will be willing to give up on their kids! I certainly want to see my first borns again - although they are less cute and less active and less guai than the new pair. The new pair seems potty trained but my first borns like to pee everywhere. And they shit in their own food tray and bath tray as well. Naughty naughty!
Here are some pictures of my first pair of chins. I am glad that yb took these photos. These are the only ones I have of them before they were taken away.
:(
I will take pictures of the new pair soonly and put them up. But for now, let's look at Chinchin #1 and Chinnie #1 and try to remember how cute they are!
*Actually the names are getting very confusing. Maybe I should just call the new pair by their original names Pepper and Plum. And call the 1st pair Chinchin and Chinnie. After all, they are special! To me, at least. :) They are the first pet I've had - not counting the poor hermit crab Tinyclawz which I accidentally salted to death in just 2 weeks :'(
